I just "inherited" our oldest's son's acct, Prophecies only. All our accts (husband's, mine and other son's) have all the campaigns and EotN, so I've been quite spoiled . I must admit, this forced making do with piddly skills, etc. is actually rather refreshing.

Maybe the insanity is contagious?

buy a second account - start a new character on that account. Get a second monitor for your computer and play with 2 character and 6 heroes

umm...pretty sure that if you delete your characters you will lose anything in your hall of monuments...

also, why not just buy an extra character slot? that's what i did.

I quite like the early stages too but they get old quickly. Do you really want to run through all those Fed Ex quests with all your chars again? And here's the kicker, due to your knowledge and experience you will hit level 20 all too soon. I have one slot for a low level char that gets periodically deleted. It's really just a storage mule that reminds me why I don't want to keep buying slots. Having one of those is quite fun. Having 10 would be painful. Start with one and see how you go.

The only real bonus to deleting chars in the long run (as they will just end up like your exisitng chars) is there is a lot more variety now. There was just Prophesies when I started. Some of the chars in the other campaigns are a lot more interesting to look at. Personal preference really.

Take a few weeks off from gw and go outside. When you come back, you might not be in impulse mode anymore.

You can rekindle your interest with one new char. You don't need to kill all of them, unless you are masochistic, which is a real possibility.

ha wow some great replies. I also have a prophecies only account so i might just delete some of those guys. I think the highest level i got there is like 10 and maybe it would be a fun challenge to work with just those skills. Or maybe it will frustrate me to no end?

I actually haven't played Guild Wars in about a year because I got Warhammer Online. Well be subscription for that game ran up.... btw rele great game... but I'm too busy to actually pay for a game and get good use out of it. That's why I'm turning back to GW. Yay free!

Buy more slots. The more, the merrier. You won't know how much will you miss them until you lose them.

Better keep them

This.
I feel the same way.
I delete my guys. Although I do it one by one.

I do not see the point in doing that.
There is no new content coming - so if you dislike something, you are stuck with that guy. He won't magically get better by getting superb new skills or pretty new armour sets.
If he sucks, he's going suck.

Thank the announcement of GW2 for this wonderful way of thinking. It makes no sense to keep investing into what is now a game with a set expiry date.
Just make the most of what you have now.

All characters of the same profession are the same, excepting appearance and name.

So, if you keep that character, you keep all unlocked skills, and outposts and everything that as done.

If you ever need to quickly get t one place with a build, you will have that character waiting for you.
